Murder on The Puffing Billy Express

We're always on the lookout for skilled performers to join the cast of Murder on the Puffing Billy Express.

Do you have strong teamwork skills? Do you have the ability to characterise, improvise and dramatise without compromise? Then perhaps this show is for you. It's a fun show with few rehearsals. It is ideal for those who cannot commit to a long season.

The shows are performed on the Puffing Billy night train and in the historic Nobelius Packing Shed in Emerald. It has been a sell-out success since 2009. As a cast member, you will be expected to attend regular impro workshops, a minimum of two rehearsals before your first performance and one rehearsal before each performance from then on. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays, 7:30pm - 9:00pm.

The show is less about learning lines and more about learning the characters, their motives, and how it all fits together. There is a high level of audience interaction: there is no fourth wall, the suspects converse directly with, and are interrogated by members of the audience.

Performances take place on Friday and Saturday nights. Cast are required from 6.30-10.30pm (although finishing time may vary). Cast members receive a token reimbursement per performance, and dinner is included.
