ACTING CLASSES

Wednesdays during term time

Gemco runs three youth groups for school-aged children and young people - from Prep to Year 12. All our groups are taught by volunteer leaders who encourage students to have a go, learn new skills, make new friends - and have fun while they do it!

Our youth groups are very inexpensive to attend at the low cost of $50 per student per term (an average of $5 per session). There is also an annual $10 membership fee which covers your child with insurance and gives you access to discount venue hire.

If you're interested in joining one of our groups, please come to the first Wednesday session of a new term, from Term 1 to Term 3, to enrol. Our end of year shows give students a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate their skills live on stage. Because Term 4 is dedicated to our end of year show, we can't take on new students at this time.

If you would like more information about our youth groups, please email us at gemcoplayers@gmail.com

AGE GROUPS

Junior Gemco
(Prep to Grade 4)

Wednesdays
4-5pm*

Led by Coleen, Aimee and Brenna
At Junior Gemco we'll introduce your child to a variety of drama skills including improvisation and mime. Our focus is to build your child's confidence and social skills. Juniors usually have a performance at the end of each semester. (Juniors must be signed in and out of each session.)
Intermediate Gemco
(Grade 5 to Year 7)

  Wednesdays 6.15-7.30pm*

Led by Cat Gemmell, Steve Hope and Ashleigh Herring
At Intermediate Gemco we'll further develop your child's skills, equipping them with the tools they need to perform in front of an audience. Intermediates explore a variety of performance styles throughout the year.

Senior Youth Gemco
(Years 8 to 12)

Wednesdays 7.45-9.15pm*   Led by David Greenaway, Carmela Pezzimenti, Ashleigh Herring and Evie Housham
Members of our Senior Youth develop their skills in a variety of performance styles, including taking part in improvisational activities and theatre games. They are also given the opportunity to take part in offstage aspects of theatre such as lighting, costumes, directing and stage management.

*Please note drop off and pick up times. Leaders are often not able to be at the venue more than five minutes before the start time, or five minutes after the finish time.
