Gemco Youth Mid-year Performance

Tickets: $5 per seat.
Seats are not allocated.
If your child can sit on your lap then there is no charge for them.

Twice a year our Youth groups put on a performance to show parents and others, what they have been doing and to give them an opportunity to be in front of an audience. It’s a very exciting time for our young members and a wonderful opportunity to see how they have grown in confidence.

Mid-Year Performance - June
22 and 23 at 2pm

Sometimes a short play or a showcase of skills, or a preview of our Youth submissions to the One Act Play Festival.

Program TBC

End Year Performance - December

At the end of the year our Youth put on plays either as individual groups or as a combination of all three, for example, Robin Hood and the Babes in the Woods in 2016, or Snow Queen in 2010.

Tickets $5

Cinema Classics - Films with U3A

Hosted by Dale Allen and U3A
Theatre, The Gem Community Arts Centre

Third Monday of the Month

November 20 1pm

Our Last Program for 2018 so try not to miss a very special Movie.
Today's movie is a classic musical comedy from the UK

featuring Dinah Sheridan, John Gregson, Kenneth More, Kay Kendall

It's time for the annual London to Brighton antique car rally, and Alan McKim and Ambrose Claverhouse are not going to let their friendship stop them from trying to humiliate each other. Along the way, some old jealousies are kindled to the point where the two men decide to have a "friendly" wager on who will be the first back to London

There will, of course, be a selection of short films to make up the first half of the program which will provide a wide range of subjects, some new, some old. We will, of course, be continuing with our 'Saturday Matinee' serial 'Captain Marvel.' Episode 7

Don't worry if you are new to the group, there is a recap at the start of each episode so you will be fully on board within minutes.

I will include trailers for some of the movies we will be seeing in 2018

Remember that as it is a U3A requirement please ensure that you bring and wear your Membership badge. There are newly updated badges available on the notice board at U3A House
Please remember to bring along some snacks to share at the interval where we can chat about movies, have a tea or coffee and prepare for the main feature.
This will be the last Cinema Classic program for 2017, we recommence in February 2018
I Look forward to seeing you there
